My nursing career has been shaped by a deep commitment to service, curiosity, advocacy, and lifelong learning. I began my work in healthcare gaining experience across multiple clinical settings, including the operating room and pediatric primary care, before ultimately finding my professional home in psychiatric mental health. These early experiences, as well as personal experiences with friends and family, broadened my understanding of the complex interplay between physical and emotional well-being and strengthened my belief that compassionate, informed, and intentional care can change the trajectory of a person’s life.
I am currently a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Baobab Psychiatric Services, where I provide outpatient care to children, adolescents, and adults with a wide range of psychiatric conditions. My clinical practice centers on collaboration, trust, and individualized treatment planning, with an emphasis on evidence-based interventions and shared decision-making. I strive to meet each patient where they are, honor their unique experiences, and work alongside them to build stability, resilience, and a sense of agency in their mental health journey.
As a Doctor of Nursing Practice student at The University of Texas at Austin, I am expanding my clinical and scholarly foundations to advance mental health care at both the individual and systems levels. My doctoral work focuses on cycle-informed psychiatric care, an emerging area of practice that integrates menstrual-cycle tracking with symptom monitoring to improve diagnostic accuracy, identify patterns, and guide more precise, personalized interventions for women experiencing mood, attention, and anxiety fluctuations. This work reflects my broader passion for improving women’s mental health outcomes, elevating patient voices, and expanding the clinical knowledge base through rigorous inquiry and innovation.
My philosophy of practice is grounded in the belief that every person deserves access to compassionate, evidence-based, and empowering mental health care. I view the therapeutic relationship as a partnership built on mutual respect, transparency, and a shared commitment to growth. My approach emphasizes patient education, collaborative goal-setting, and fostering the skills and confidence individuals need to become active participants in their own wellness.
I am committed to advocacy at both the patient and community levels. This includes reducing stigma, promoting mental health equity, and supporting policies and practices that expand access to high-quality psychiatric care. I believe that clinicians have a responsibility to remain curious, reflective, and open to emerging evidence, and I strive to model this through continuous professional development, interdisciplinary collaboration, and engagement with current research.
Integrating cycle-informed care into psychiatric practice is one way I seek to advance the field and improve patient outcomes. By acknowledging the biological, hormonal, and psychosocial factors that influence mental health, I aim to promote a more holistic, precise, and patient-centered model of care—one that recognizes patterns, anticipates needs, and supports early, proactive intervention.
Above all, I believe in the dignity, resilience, and inherent worth of the individuals I serve. My goal as a provider and DNP-prepared clinician is to help patients reclaim their narrative, strengthen their sense of self, and build meaningful, sustainable pathways to mental wellness.
